 TAIZ_ Under the motto of "Towards Coexistence & Mutual Benefits", a welcoming ceremony has been recently held at the Taiz Tourist Club on April, 19,2009 on the occasion of receiving 875 Yemeni children received treatment in Germany during the last three years. Around 500 German families have been also honored during the ceremony as an appreciation of their humanitarian touch to offer medical care aids to Yemeni children.
The ceremony was sponsored by the Yemen Company for Ghee & Soap Industry, (YCGSI), one of the HSA Group of Companies and attended by galaxy of German and Yemeni eminent doctors, Hammer Forum Staff, media men, and a host of others.
On his part, Mr. Muhammed Ahmed Al-Haj, the Local Council Secretary General of the Taiz Governorate highly spoke of the German humanitarian efforts in terms of supporting the poverty stricken families to be treated and hosted in German land. "This noble touch offered by the German is memorable and clearly manifest itself while children have been warmly embraced by the Germans at the club's hall," Mr Al-Haj commented.
The sponsor's speech was delivered by Mr. Ali Saleh, the YCGSI Deputy General Manager highlighting that the Yemeni children like other children in the world deserve a humanitarian touch by the community people. "Key contributions that made by HSA Group of Companies towards supporting Hammer Forum activities stems from the HSA's strong belief in achieving its social and humanitarian mission. "The YCGSI and the HSA Group of Companies will remain a strong support for adopting and sponsoring such activities that could draw a wide smile on others' faces.
At another level, Mr. Ali Azzakhmy, the representative of the Hammer Forum representative in Yemen delivered a speech focusing on pivotal role played the HSA Group of Companies to support social activities represented by YCGSI through its active participation to make a great success of the ceremony. He further highly spoke of efforts made by the German medical team who hosted Yemeni children to be treated in Germany.
On his part, the Hammer Forum e.V. Chairman, Dr. Emmanouilides stated that the key objective of the Hammer Forum work is concentrated on pro¬viding medical care for ill and injured children in war and crisis areas.
When at the beginning of 1991, after the Gulf Crisis, the Gulf War started against Iraq, the doctors and citizens in the West¬phalian town Hamm decided to do something about the need and misery of the children in Iraq. They founded the “Hammer Forum” in 1991 to organize medical help for the children
"Help is given regardless of religion, sex and nationality. The long-term objective is the establishment and expansi¬on of adequate local facilities in order to keep the number of children which have to be transferred to Germany for medical care to a minimum," Dr. Emmanouilides concluded.
A field visit for the company's premises has been paid by the German Medical Team where they toured a number of production sections and got informed of high level of the national industry. The German team has been deeply impressed by the company's high level of performance and good quality of products and the company's active involvement with the civil society organizations.
